On first appearance Cheryl is a very shallow and self-centred individual, someone who thinks far more about how situations will affect herself than anyone else. Cheryl is queen bee of Riverdale High and leader of the River Vixens, giving her a distorted view of her own importance, particularly given her upbringing. Raised in a rich household with abusive parents Cheryl has always been looking out for herself because other than her twin brother Jason, no one else would. She takes slights against herself very personally, acts pettily towards others in response and fails to see the bigger picture of a situation. Whilst Cheryl is capable of thinking about others she often needs reminding to do so, having to remember that she is not actually the center of everyone's worlds as much as she'd like to be.
DRAMATIC. Due to her shallowness, Cheryl loves attention particularly the positive kind, leading her to create tense or dramatic situations to get some juicy gossip going. After catching Archie and Betty sharing a kiss Cheryl used it to blackmail Betty for her own whims, later sharing the knowledge for no reason other than to cause drama, having been shunned by something else during the day. Cheryl thrives in chaos, able to easily cry on cue if the attention doesn't go her way or sitting at the sidelines popcorning the situation with her friends. It isn't solely dramatic situations that Cheryl causes but simply her entire being is overdramatic. Cheryl can't enter a room without making a statement about it, managing to draw all attention onto her simply walking down the stairs or through a door. When something small has happened to her Cheryl will blow it up when she talks about it to make the situation seem life or death. She's also admitted in the past that she can be in the mood for chaos or a little hellraising, taking much pleasure in doing so. Whilst Cheryl is incredibly dramatic it's really a front for her insecurities, a way to keep people at arm's length and stop them from seeing past her carefully created facade. To stop them from finding any weakness.
CARING. Though Cheryl is kind of a terrible person who would only seem interested in herself she does care about her friends, even some members of her family. She loved her brother Jason, so much so that people believed it was incestuous (untrue) but when Jason was killed Cheryl was heartbroken. Cheryl has also been seen to care about her friends Betty and Veronica. Whilst her favours or agreement to help someone usually come with a price (or some sort of self-interest) Cheryl has agreed to help the two of them just because they've needed it. Family is also incredibly important to Cheryl even if her own family are awful. When Betty's sister Polly needed help Cheryl readily agreed to not only pay for her doctor's bills but to also house her because she was family. In addition to her brother, Cheryl is also incredibly close with her grandmother, Nana Rose, becoming increasingly concerned when she believed that someone was plotting to kill her (who likewise risked herself to let Cheryl's friends know when she was in danger). Though Cheryl does care about the people closest to her she keeps this part of herself incredibly guarded. As well as her parents being verbally abusive throughout her childhood her mother also shunned (and sent her away) due to her sexual preference, something that she needed help being more open about (with someone who she now very dearly loves).
DETERMINED. Once Cheryl puts her mind to something she is determined to get her own way. Cheryl is a typical spoiled, rich girl who uses money to bribe and barter, to put people in her pocket and have them do whatever she wants. But it isn't just money that Cheryl is adept in using but her words. Carrying a 4.2 GPA Cheryl is incredibly intelligent, using words and logical arguments to twist situations into her favour or alternatively threaten and intimidate by the intensity of how she speaks. The times that Cheryl doesn't get what she wants leaves her feeling very frustrated, with her occasionally trying to find another way around it (or sulking). If Cheryl is in your corner trying to advocate something? You have a good friend on your side. She's not only good at using logical arguments but also manipulation, keeping secrets she knows about people (the juicier the better) hidden until she needs to use them as blackmail. Cheryl is someone that you want fighting in your corner rather than against you.
CALLOUS. Cheryl can be incredibly cruel, something learned through how her parents have spoken to her during her life. Raised in a verbally abusive household, shunned for her sexual orientation and constantly belittled Cheryl has a lot of anger and darkness within her. As she's grown older she's used this as protection and defence, throwing back words just as harshly as they are thrown at her, someone that is quick to judge and shun herself. After burning down their home due to the pain and trauma that Cheryl had experienced in it, her mother being caught in the fire Cheryl further threatened her existence, threatening to cut off her oxygen if her mother didn't cow to her whims, stating that she lived simply because Cheryl wished it. Whilst Cheryl is quick to threaten it is uncertain how far she would actually go in terms of killing someone. Though she has shot at adversaries with her bow Cheryl shoots to wound rather than kill, preferring to send a message rather than murder herself.
INDEPENDENT. Cheryl has incredibly high walls around her, keeping even those that she would call friends at arm's length. She is highly protective of herself and incredibly capable of fending for herself, both socially and in the real world. Cheryl doesn't need other people to do things for her, though sometimes it is nice if just to see their loyalty to her. Cheryl's intelligence helps her to make wise decisions, such as distancing herself as much as possible from her family, finding legal angles to make it stick and eventually emancipating herself. Cheryl knows how to build allies, to manipulate people to her advantage and to put herself in the best possible position. Though only 17 she is well prepared for leaving school, having dreams and goals ahead of her and knowing exactly how to get them. Powers and Abilities: MULTILINGUAL. Cheryl speaks English and French, potentially bilingual (though at least enough to use in casual conversation).
ARCHERY. Cheryl is a skilled archer, someone who never misses her mark, shooting to wound rather than kill. She has also been able to successfully train other archers, training her Pretty Poisons to be skilled as she is.
TACTICAL. Whilst socially Cheryl can be a little short-sighted Cheryl is capable of making tactical decisions, though they can sometimes be emotional ones, such as when she used the Poisons to send a message to the Serpents. Cheryl has carefully watched her family's manoeuvring as she grew up, learning skills from them to help her plan steps in advance and to cover her trail. She is a keen investigator, able to use her manipulation to get the answers that she seeks and put people in difficult positions through uncovering blackmail on them. Whilst Cheryl doesn't often do this, more focused on things relating to her, she will not hesitate to put herself in the best position should she beocme threatened.
ATHLETIC. Cheryl is a gymnast, leader of the River Vixens (her cheerleading squad) and incredibly flexible. She is skilled at choreographing routines and coordinating pep rallies, putting on a fantastic show for any she cheers to. Inventory: -- outfit inc. serpent's jacket [1]
